| Sports | There are many achievements on sports. The year 2005 witnessed the successful first sports meeting since Nanhui became a district. The sports meeting was attended by 56 delegations and athletes amounting to 6000 person times. In the same year Nanhui has organized 14 games on football, basketball and dancing. Besides, in the Sixth Special Olympics of Shanghai, the athletes on behalf of Nanhui won 98 golden medals, 63 silver medals and 39 copper medals. The teenagers from Nanhui also won honors in many national games.
Two gyms and 48 fitness centers were built last year. In addition, Nanhui has established a public sport ground and a constitution testing station for citizens. A coach team of social sports has been organized with 487 professional coaches.
